Dr. Lawrence Hammond serves as a Senior Advisor with Let’s Brainstorm Real Estate Advisory, bringing extensive executive experience in community development finance, affordable housing, real estate lending, capital strategy, organizational leadership, and developer capacity building.  As Senior Advisor with Let’s Brainstorm, Lawrence provides strategic advisory, capital and financing strategy, developer assessment and coaching, business development, and relationship management. He also advises CDFIs, nonprofit and faith-based organizations, and other mission-driven institutions seeking to leverage real estate, capital, and strategic partnerships to achieve sustainable economic and community impact.

Prior to joining Let’s Brainstorm, Lawrence served as Senior Vice President and Director of ACCESS at The Community Preservation Corporation (CPC), where he provided executive leadership to initiatives focused on expanding opportunity, strengthening developer capacity, and increasing access to capital across the real estate and community development sectors. Through ACCESS, he helped advance strategies centered on education, advocacy, innovation, investment, and creating stronger pathways for emerging and historically underrepresented developers and community-based organizations.

Throughout his career, Lawrence has worked at the intersection of capital, real estate, and community development. His experience spans real estate finance, affordable housing, lending and credit strategy, business development, underwriting, strategic partnerships, and organizational capacity building. His background provides him with a comprehensive understanding of the development process—from early-stage feasibility and predevelopment through capital structuring, credit evaluation, financing, and execution.

Beyond his career in finance and real estate, Lawrence brings more than two decades of pastoral and organizational leadership experience.  At the center of Lawrence’s life is his commitment to faith and family. He and his wife are the proud parents of three sons and grandparents of two granddaughters.

Lawrence holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Marketing from Long Island University and both a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from New York Theological Seminary.
